The cover of ʜᴇᴀʀᴛsᴛᴏᴘᴘᴇʀ - ᴠᴏʟᴜᴍᴇ 2 by Alice Oseman is just as cute as the first one in this series! The wonderful colours as well as the general design jumped straight at me.
It has been easy for me to find right back into the story, thanks to a little recap at the beginning of the book. While book 1 concentrated more on the friendship of Nick and Charlie, book 2 revolves around the next steps in their relationship and which hardships come with this change. The storyline is authentic, emotional, uplifting and sometimes lighthearted.
The characters are palpable and they deal with everything that’s being thrown in their way as well as with their fears in their very own ways. Especially Charlie has become a clear favourite of mine, but in the end I love them all! Or maybe not all of them, though I’ll let you find that out on your own.
Hᴇᴀʀᴛsᴛᴏᴘᴘᴇʀ - ᴠᴏʟᴜᴍᴇ 2 by Alice Oseman is a wonderfully heartbreaking and at the same time heartwarming read that takes the reader on an emotional roller coaster. This Graphic Novel is full of memorable characters as well as a clear and very important message. It shows the reader that we all should be more accepting of each other and which issues and fears but also how much goodness come from all different kinds of relationships.
This book has been a sure highlight for myself as well as for little Miss C. Both of us highly recommend Nick and Charlie’s stories and can’t wait to dive into book 3!
