The cover of ʜᴇᴀʀᴛsᴛᴏᴘᴘᴇʀ: ᴠᴏʟᴜᴍᴇ 1 by Alice Oseman is absolutely adorable! I love the overall style and colours and in our opinion, it’s perfect for the story.
The illustrations are worked out in a stunning manner for each scene. They are soft contoured and don’t show many details but it’s a super cute style. The fonts that have been chosen for this Graphic Novel are easy to decipher and look really beautiful.
The story itself is an amazing mix of friendship and love, but also mental illness and daily hardships. This book has left us in an all fuzzy and hearty state after finishing it. It’s pace had been thought through very well and it is definitely suitable for teens and adults alike.
Little Miss C and I have been enjoying ʜᴇᴀʀᴛsᴛᴏᴘᴘᴇʀ: Vᴏʟᴜᴍᴇ 1 pretty much at the same time. This has been the first book that could keep her attention in months and she just couldn’t get enough of it. Guess what!! She even asked for the other books in this series, that’s how excited she was about this super cute story.
For us, this has been a definite reading highlight that brings the reader closer to serious topics in a warm and wonderful way. Alice Oseman has a captivating way with words and also created some stunning and memorable characters here.
We can highly recommend this book and can’t wait to keep on reading!
