REVIEW TO 'TO THE LIONS' BY HOLLY WATT

ADVERTISEMENT {REVIEW}

I received this book as a review copy in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion. A big thank you goes here to Bloomsbury Publishing Australia.

A journalist must follow the clues, no matter how far that takes her.

Casey Benedict, star reporter at the Post, has infiltrated the lives and exposed the lies of countless politicians and power players. Using her network of contacts, Casey is always on the search for the next big story, no matter how much danger this might place her in, no matter what cost emotionally.

Tipped off by an overheard conversation at an exclusive London nightclub, she begins to investigate the apparent suicide of a wealthy young British man, whose death has left his fiancée and family devastated.

Casey's determined hunt for the truth will take her from the glitz of St-Tropez to the deserts of Libya and on to the very darkest corners of the human mind.

The cover of ᴛᴏ ᴛʜᴇ ʟɪᴏɴꜱ by Holly Watt immediately caught my eye. I found it to be quite intriguing and mysterious and I also love the colours.

The author's writing style has been very fast paced and full of action, which has been perfectly suitable for a political thriller such as this one. With this story, she worked through the sensitive topic of the increasing numbers of refugees and migrants and gave the readers insights into refugee camps and their horrible circumstances.

Another positive aspect of the author's writing style is how realistic and terrifying her words felt while reading. I've been utterly captivated by this story and couldn't put it down at all! I just had to know how the story continues and found this book to be unputdownable.

When it comes to the characters of this story, let me tell you: They're a handful! Don't get me wrong, Holly Watt did an amazing job with the characters but they're definitely no lovey-dovey happy campers. They're strong-willed, unique, and don't know any limits when it comes to catching the perfect story as reporters. They also felt unbelievably real.

With ᴛᴏ ᴛʜᴇ ʟɪᴏɴꜱ, the author Holly Watt created a gripping, dark, and horrifying political thriller that'll stick to your mind. The thrilling characters and background information made this story so much more real. I can absolutely recommend this book to everyone who loves a good thriller
