REVIEW TO 'THORNE' - THE CHRONICLES OF KAYA #2 BY CHARLOTTE McCONAGHY

"You were born to lead the way, my son, even when the world is on its darkest."

Overview:

Lovers in Kaya have always died together, bonded in death as in life. But a cure for the bond has sent rumours like wildfire through the land. A team of young Kayans will be sent on a quest to find the answer and, with rebellion brewing, the very nature of love is at stake. The beautiful but reckless Finn has never shied away from danger, and ending the bond means more to her than anyone knows. This adventure sounds thrilling to her, but Finn has always been willing to risk too much, and for the first time must face the idea that she has something - or someone - to lose. Crown Prince Thorne, in the neighbouring land of Pirenti, has grown up rejecting the legacy of his father's blood, keeping caged the beast that lies dormant within. But the moment he sets eyes on the wild girl from the Kayan cliffs, his usual caution hasn't a hope of surviving. As the world crumbles around them, can Finn and Thorne cast off the shadows to find a love stronger than either imagined? Or is their true challenge to find a way to embrace the darkness within?

Review:

First things first, which means in this case, of course, the cover. In my opinion all the covers of this series are stunning beatiful and they are definitely perfect for the story! <3

As you all know, I already loved 'Avery' and especially the characters in the first book of this series. Because of that I had very high expectations in 'Thorne'. And what should I say? I LOVE IT!!

The author Charlotte McConaghy has an amazing and absolutely thrilling writing style. I've literally inhaled this book as I read it in one single day. The details are described in a perfect way without any dull, boring scenes. I could imagine every single scene after just a couple of words.

The characters are stunning. I love them all. Finn is an extremely beautiful young woman but she's also absolutely reckless and full of sadness and grief. But she still manages to live her life and most important she has fun and finds happiness and love. Her brothers Jonah and Penn are the best part of her life. They love each other more than anyone could imagine and they would do everything for each other.

Another great character in this story is Thorne. The son of King Thorne of Pirenti. He has been raised by his loving mother Roselyn but he also has the same beast inside him, which lived inside King Thorne. The beast, which comes with the bloodline of the brutal and bloodthirsty berserker. While reading this story, you will find out, if he can ignore his beast or if he gives in to it's bloodthirst.

You will also come across Falco - also known as Emperor Feckless. But is he really such a feckless coward? And who is the feared Sparrow - the enemy of Falco - really?

Who hides behind this name and what does he plan?

Find all these things out by reading 'Thorne' - book #2 in the 'The Chronicles Of Kaya' series - and join Finn, Thorne and all the other wonderful characters on their massive adventures.

I, for my part, will definitely get the whole series as print books as well to see these amazing books always, when I come across my bookshelf. 'Thorne' is one of my highlights. Not just a highlight of this year but a highlight in all the books I've read.
