Little Miss C definitely is, so she was quite happy to receive this beautiful review copy of ᴛʜᴇ ᴘᴇᴀʀʟ ɪɴ ᴛʜᴇ ɪᴄᴇ by Cathryn Constable. The cover is an absolute stunner with its dreamy colours and the adventurous illustration.


The author's thrilling, colourful writing style has had C enthralled from the very beginning. ᴛʜᴇ ᴘᴇᴀʀʟ ɪɴ ᴛʜᴇ ɪᴄᴇ is an enchanting read, filled to the brim with magic, adventure, emancipation and secrets. The wartime setting and the world building has been great.


The characters have been easy to grasp for Little Miss C. There has been a lot of depth to all of the characters, which got C excited to talk a lot about them. Especially the main character, Marina, snuck into C's heart with her adventurous, courageous, and curious mindset. She came across as quite independent and has been easily lovable.



We can highly recommend this magical, thrilling adventure with all the amazing characters. It is definitely suitable for younger readers. ᴛʜᴇ ᴘᴇᴀʀʟ ɪɴ ᴛʜᴇ ɪᴄᴇ has been an absolute bliss for Little Miss C.
