REVIEW TO 'THE LOOP' BY BEN OLIVER

ADVERTISEMENT {REVIEW}

I received this book as a review copy in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion. A big thank you goes here to Chicken House Books Australia.

It's Luka Kane's sixteenth birthday and he's been inside The Loop for over two years. Every inmate is serving a death sentence with the option to push back their execution date by six months if they opt into Delays, scientific and medical experiments for the benefit of the elite in the outside world.But rumors of a war on the outside are spreading amongst the inmates, and before they know it, their tortuous routine becomes disrupted. The government issued rain stops falling. Strange things are happening to the guards. And it's not long until the inmates are left alone inside the prison.Were the chains that shackled Luka to his cell the only instruments left to keep him safe? In a thrilling shift, he must overcome fellow prisoners hell-bent on killing him, the warden losing her mind, the rabid rats in the train tunnels, and a population turned into murderous monsters to try and break out of The Loop, save his family, and discover who is responsible for the chaos that has been inflicted upon the world.

First things first, I absolutely love this cover. At first glance it looks very simple but the more I look at it, the more I love the little details.

Ben Oliver's writing style is extremely captivating and fast paced. This book is full of action and I simply could not put the book down. The story itself has been quite a hard pill to be honest. Not because I didn’t like the book but because of what’s happening to the quite young characters. Though the plot itself has been very well thought through and the emotions it caused me while reading went into the extreme. I’ve just felt so much, from hatred, over devastation, to hope. And oh my, those plot twists really got me this time!

The characters are so stunning and wonderful. I loved seeing their development and how they handled things. Especially Luka is showing such a massive amount of courage, you just have to love him.

All up I really enjoyed ᴛʜᴇ ʟᴏᴏᴘ by Ben Oliver. It enthralled me with its lovely characters and the thrilling plot. The ending really left me wanting to read on with the next book in this trilogy and my curiosity is in need of knowing how the story continues. I can highly recommend this book to everyone who enjoys a good dystopian story.
