REVIEW TO 'PERIS NIGHT: TERAKON - SECRET LANGUAGE' BY EVA MARIA KLIMA

UNPAID ADVERTISEMENT {REVIEW}

I received this review copy from the author in exchange for my honest opinion on this book.

Melanie is a young, down-to-earth student at the University of Salzburg. One night she meets Michael, a handsome and mysterious stranger, at the city’s hottest club. And then something strange happens: she overhears a conversation that according to her best friend never took place. After that she does not want anything to do with Michael and his friends, because her instinct tells her that these people are dangerous. And her instinct has never failed her before. But their encounter is only the beginning of far stranger things and a love with many obstacles. He eventually gains her trust and draws her deeply into the magical world of Salzburg, a place unlike the city she thought she knew. Here, unimagined wonders and dangers await her. Their budding relationship is like a volcano, explosive but also loving and erotic. But Michael has his very own reasons to keep her happy… and they might just be a little selfish.

The cover design is very detailed but though I mostly prefer simplicity in covers, I fell in love with it immediately. The colors are beautiful and I find it quite fascinating to discover a new tiny detail every time I look at it.

Originally, the book has been published in German. It has been translated in a professional manner and nothing of the original content went missing.

Eva Maria Klima's writing style is thrilling, detailed, and fast-paced and after only a few words into the story I've already been pulled in. I was barely able to put the book down at all and basically inhaled it in a heartbeat. I haven't had the impression that there were any dull or boring scenes at all.

The story itself is completely different from everything I read so far - and I read many stories. There are quite a few well-known supernatural creatures in this book but the author gave them a bit of a make-over.

The main characters are simply stunning - well all characters are but I'll have to cut it down a bit.

For once, there's Melanie. She is the Protagonist of the story. On one hand she is completely freaking out about her new situation in the first place but on the other hand she adapts quite well over time and shows a lot of courage. She absolutely hates the feeling of depending on someone else and wants to have control over her own life. What I also really like about her, is that she is strong-headed - a lot - and can't be controlled by a guy. But don't get me wrong, just because she's a strong woman doesn't mean she isn't kind, caring, and loving.

And then there is Michael. He is a completely different kind of person. I found it quite difficult to build an opinion of him. In one moment, he doesn't show any emotions whatsoever, is completely closed up, and is the most mysterious person in the universe. And in the next moment it seems he's caring so much about the people around him that you can actually feel every single thing he is going through. In those moments it feels like you're right there with him. I can't tell you much more about him without writing a spoiler. Just this: Give him a chance. In the end you'll love him as much as I do!

If you enjoy a mixture of great characters, a story that pulls you in, and aren't afraid of new ideas, then you absolutely have to read this book!

'Peris Night: Terakon - Secret Language' by Eva Maria Klima is an amazing read, I most definitely can recommend to everyone who likes to dive into a thrilling, fantastic story.

I for my part can't wait to get my fingers on book #2 in this series. I'm looking forward to meet all the amazing characters and to be carried away by the world of 'Peris Night' again.
