"Who is this?" Surral asked.
Inspite of everything, I felt heat crawl up my neck.
"The lying fuckhead," I answered.
"Ah" was all she said.

I received this review copy in exchange for my honest opinion on this book. A big thank you goes to Hachette Australia.
A convict and an enchanting rogue hold the fate of the universe in their hands . . .
Wanted criminal Tess Bailey and her band of merry thieves are desperate and on the run. The most powerful ruler in the universe wants them dead, and while he hunts them, the stolen ship they escaped on is running out of steam. Their one offer of help comes from Shade Ganavan, a tall, dark and arrogant stranger with ambiguous motivations.
At her side is gentle, blind Shiori, Fiona, an ex-rebel fighter with a rage so strong it could bring generals to their knees, and determined Jax and Miko, steering their ship through the depths of space. Together, their friendship gives them strength, but will their bond be strong enough to defeat an enemy whose ruthlessness is legendary?
As their luck runs out, Tess will have to choose an ending to her story - and whether to fight against or yield to a temptation so strong, it threatens to cleave the land of stars in two.

This cover was instant love. I saw it and knew that I had to have it! It's different, gorgeous, somewhat magical, and simply perfect for every lover of a starry night sky.
I know it's not exactly cover related but I also have to say, that I've never seen better Paperback books than the ones from Hachette. I could comfortably read with a fully opened book and the spine is still perfectly intact.
Amanda Bouchet is an incredibly talented author. Thrilling, emotional, picturesque, action-loaded, unique, steamy hot. These are just a few adjectives that come to my mind while trying to describe her writing style in this book. A rare and refreshing talent for sure.
The world building is impressive and the plot has been very well worked through. There is nothing boring or dull about this story at all. Quite the opposite, actually. 'Nightchaser' is pure action, heartache, cocky humour, and raw emotion.
Also, picturing the scenery in this book came so fascinatingly easy. I could see every face, every little button and door, in my mind without having to think about it. Honestly, I would've never thought that the main setting on a spaceship - the Endeavour - could be so impressive. I have to admit, I love it!
Oh my, the characters...
There is a strong, female lead and her crew of rebellious misfits, who would trust her with their lives at any time. They are like a family even though most of them are not related by blood. Or maybe that's the reason why they're so close in the first place.
Of course you will also come across villains in this story and believe me, they are as bad as they come. They are cruel and wouldn't stop at anything. Not even for children or their own family.
And then there is Bonk. But you'll definitely have to find out about this one for yourself.
A breathtaking writing style, catchy characters, a stunning world-building, and a very well thought through storyline with surprising plot twists. Is there anything else a reader could wish for? I think not!
Some stories just stick with you and 'Nightchaser' is most definitely one of them. For me, this is an absolute must read and I'm quite looking forward to book #2 in the 'The Endeavour Trilogy'.
