ADVERTISEMENT {REVIEW}

I received this book as a review copy in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion. A big thank you goes here to Scholastic Australia.

Freshman year of college is full of challenges there are messy roommates, cranky professors, and disgusting dining halls. But for Claire Dearing, add How to properly avoid being eaten by a dinosaur to that list. The year is 2004 and Claire has been given the chance of a lifetime: the opportunity to intern at the Jurassic World theme park less than a year before it opens to the public. She is laser-focused, with her sights set on bettering the lives of animals worldwide. But life at the park isnt all test-driving Gyrospheres and falling head over heels for a fellow student named Justin...though she does that, too. Rumours and suspicions flood the island and Claire is determined to uncover the truth. As Claire searches for answers, she and Justin find themselves thrust into a sinister plot that will leave Claire forever changed. Now forced to question everything she thought she knew, she's brought one step closer to the Claire film fans met in Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

My Little Book Raccoon DJ is a huge fan of Jurassic World. So it was a no-brainier that he wants to read ᴊᴜʀᴀꜱꜱɪᴄ ᴡᴏʀʟᴅ - ᴛʜᴇ ᴇᴠᴏʟᴜᴛɪᴏɴ ᴏꜰ ᴄʟᴀɪʀᴇ.

The cover of this book has been love on first sight. It's absolutely gorgeous with all the tiny details and the colour palette used in the design.

DJ went into this story without any specific expectations and was definitely positively surprised. The author Tess Sharpe has a brilliant way with words. Her writing style has been thrilling, detailed, action-filled to the brim, and fast-paced. The plot has been very well worked out and after reading this book a lot from the movies made more sense to him. This story is full of secrets to be discovered bit by bit by the reader. DJ has barely been able to put the book aside as he was totally enthralled by the story and read it within two sittings.

DJ found Claire Dearing to be okay-ish within the movies, yet he adored her in this book. He loved to get to know the younger Claire, who made a lot more sense to him. She still comes across as quite controlling, though not as cold and calculating as we knew her from the movies. She even gave him the impression of a caring human being, who is able to build friendships and love others.

All summed up, ᴊᴜʀᴀꜱꜱɪᴄ ᴡᴏʀʟᴅ - ᴛʜᴇ ᴇᴠᴏʟᴜᴛɪᴏɴ ᴏꜰ ᴄʟᴀɪʀᴇ is a riveting story full of wonders, secrets, action, and beautifully developed characters. This book has been a massive reading highlight for DJ and he absolutely recommends it.
