REVIEW TO 'IMMORTAL WRITERS' - IMMORTAL WRITERS #1 BY JILL BOWERS

Overview:

Young up-and-coming author Liz McKinnen has no idea that her life is about to change forever when she comes home from her first book tour. When she's kidnapped and told by her captors that she has to kill her fantasy book's antagonist, she thinks that she's fallen into the hands of crazy, dangerous fans... until her antagonist sends a real, fire-breathing dragon after her.

Liz is quickly initiated into the Immortal Writers, a group of authors from throughout time whose words have given them eternal life, and whose prose is so powerful that it's brought stories over from the Imagination Field into the Reality Field. As Liz meets authors such as William Shakespeare, JRR Tolkien, Edgar Allan Poe, and Jane Austen, she has to learn how to control magic, fight dragons, and face her own troubled past before her power-hungry villain takes over the world. Will she survive the ultimate battle against the dragon lord whom she created?

Review:

The first impression of a book is the cover. The 'Immortal Writers' cover is interesting and quickly caught my eye. It's different but in a beautiful way and it most definitely suits the story behind it.

Jill Bower's writing style can definitely be described as thrilling, figuratively and fluid. Whilst reading, I could imagine every scene and character perfectly and there haven't been any dull scenes at all. The author also did a great job working out the plot.

The idea of immortal writers is amazing. Just imagine you would write a book and you and some of your characters accidentally become immortal.

The author created a stunning story and shows the reader just how powerful words can truly be.

The characters in this book are simply amazing.

Liz is the loving and kind protagonist but deep down in her soul she has buried the memories of her horrific past. She adapts well to the changes in her life, is smart and quick to learn new skills. I love her!

You will also come across Curtis. I won't tell you much about him, as I don't want to reveal too much upfront. Let's just say he wouldn't let anything bad happen to the people he loves.

I would recommend this book to every reader, who likers new ideas and a fantastic, thrilling story. I for my part am definitely looking forward to read book #2 in the 'Immortal Writers' series and can't wait to get my fingers on it.
