A quiet lakeside community with one open secret everyone knows that Alva's father killed her mother, all those years ago. When there are rumours of dark creatures rising from the lake, Alva assumes that rumours are all they are. But, as terror begins to hold the village in its grip, Alva comes to realise that there may well be a connection between the secrets of her past and the horror of her present.

Little Miss C recently read ʜᴏʟᴅ ʙᴀᴄᴋ ᴛʜᴇ ᴛɪᴅᴇ by Melinda Salisbury and that's been her first venture into the Horror genre. The cover is a total stunner and already gives off some creepy vibes that suit the story well.
Little Miss C was absolutely stunned by the thrilling, captivating writing style of the author. Melinda Salisbury did an especially amazing job when it comes to the setting of the story. It's a bit more modern than I'm personally used to when it comes to Horror stories but C really enjoyed it. With that, the author made it quite easy for C to dive into the story and keep reading. Every here and there she would put the book aside, what was mainly caused by the story line as it's quite a bit scary and secretive.
When it comes to the characters, Little Miss C has been quite impressed. She loved the main character, Alva, with her courage and all. Alva is very likable and easy to relate to. And even though C was right out scared of Alva's father, she thought he was perfect for this role.
In conclusion, ʜᴏʟᴅ ʙᴀᴄᴋ ᴛʜᴇ ᴛɪᴅᴇ has been the perfect book for Little Miss C to try out a new genre. It has definitely been a highlight for her and she highly recommends this book.
