The cover of Fantastic Beasts: The Wonder Of Nature by The Natural History Museum had me intrigued. I'ts beautifully designed and immediately sparked my as well as little Miss C's interest.
This book has been produced as a high quality hardcover book, which gives away the impression of a collector's edition or an encyclopedia - which it kind of is.
This book contains a whole lot of interesting information about the magical creatures from the wizarding world as well as the beautiful - and sometimes grotesque - creatures of our very own world. Though I must say, when I first saw the book I did expect quite a bit more in the direction of the creatures from the wizarding world.
Unfortunately, I found some of the essays to be a bit boring and flat and I ended up skipping through the pages more than I actually read.
All up, Fantastic Beasts: The Wonder Of Nature has been quite interesting, yet I wouldn't exactly call it a must-have on my bookshelves. The quality is great and the pictures are chosen well, yet the descriptions of the creatures often fell flat for me.
