REVIEW TO 'DAPHNE AND VELMA: THE DARK DECEPTION' BY JOSEPHINE RUBY

ADVERTISEMENT {REVIEW}

I received this book as a review copy in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion. A big thank you goes here to Scholastic Australia.

Despite their differences, Daphne and Velma were able to solve the mystery of The Vanishing Girl. But there are a lot of secrets buried in the town of Crystal Cove. And the biggest case of all still remains unsolved... why did the town's original settlers all disappear? What happened to them?

The cover of ᴅᴀᴘʜɴᴇ ᴀɴᴅ ᴠᴇʟᴍᴀ: ᴛʜᴇ ᴅᴀʀᴋ ᴅᴇᴄᴇᴘᴛɪᴏɴ blends in perfectly with the first one in this series. It's beautiful and my little book raccoons and I absolutely love every tiny detail of it.

The author - Josephine Ruby - shows off her amazing writing skills again. With this book, she digs deep into the mystery and her thrilling way with words had us hooked from page one.

The story picks up straight where book #1 left off and it's been very easy to get back into the story. In our opinion, the mystery has been harder to solve than the first one, which is what we really loved.

When it comes to the characters, the author didn't need to explain so much about them, since we already knew them from the first book in the series. It was great to see how much Daphne and Velma grew in their personalities as well as in their friendship.

ᴅᴀᴘʜɴᴇ ᴀɴᴅ ᴠᴇʟᴍᴀ: ᴛʜᴇ ᴅᴀʀᴋ ᴅᴇᴄᴇᴘᴛɪᴏɴ has been a highlight for all of us and we even liked it a tiny bit more than book #1. We can definitely recommend this book to all you mystery lovers out there.
