REVIEW TO 'AVERY' - THE CHRONICLES OF KAYA #1 BY CHARLOTTE McCONAGHY

Overview:

The people of Kaya die in pairs. When one lover dies, the other does too. So it has been for thousands of years - until Ava.

For although her bondmate, Avery, has been murdered and Ava's soul has been torn in two, she is the only one who has ever been strong enough to cling to life. Vowing revenge upon the barbarian queen of Pirenti, Ava's plan is interrupted when she is captured by the deadly prince of her enemies.

Prince Ambrose has been brought up to kill and hate. But when he takes charge of a strangely captivating Kayan prisoner and is forced to survive with her on a dangerous island, he must reconsider all he holds true . . .

In a violent country like Pirenti, where emotion is scorned as a weakness, can he find the strength to fight for the person he loves . . . even when she's his vengeful enemy?

Review:

In my opinion the cover is stunning beautiful and i definitely need it in my shelf as well.

'Avery' is one of the most brutal books I've ever read but it's also definitely a highlight for me because it shows how much a person can be changed by real love.

I've never read 'Game of Thrones' but I heard so much about it that I think the level of brutality in this book comes close to the one of 'GoT'. The author Charlotte McConaghy has a very detailed and absolutely thrilling writing style. I couldn't lay this book down for just one second as it's also a very fascinating book.

Avery has been a soldier of Kaya, who assassinated the Barbarian Queen of Pirenti. He got caught and died trying. But you need to know, that the people of Kaya always die in pairs, if they love. And he loved. His bondmate's name is Ava and she is amazing. Ava is beautiful, has courage and is the most precious thing in Avery's life.

So he dies with the knowledge, that she too will die on this day. That's been the moment, when I spilled the first tears. It's a tragic scene and I hated the Barbarian Queen. I wanted to know why she has become that brutal, blood thirsty person she is. In my eyes she is a monster and so are all the people of her country I got to know. But will they always be those monsters or are they just like that because of their Queen?

You will stumble across amazing characters during this great story. And you will be absolutely spellbound by the action as there are no dull scenes at all. I for my part couldn't lay the book down as I always wanted to know what happens next.

Join Avery on his huge adventure to find it all out and believe me you will be surprised. You will find heaps of death and darkness in this book but you will also find great love. You will see that not everything always has to be black and white. No, the colours in between are the ones, which matter the most.

I lived through so many emotions while reading Avery's story. At first it's been pure sadness, then the hatred came and after that there's been friendship. And then the love came. Heaps and heaps of love.

Even, if there is so much brutality in this book, I would recommend it to anyone, who wants to read an absolutely thrilling book! I can't wait to read 'Thorne' - book #2 in 'The chronicles of Kaya' - to see what happens next.

'I'll give you everything I have, which I know isn't much, but I'll love you, as high as the sky and as wide as the sea. I'll love you like a wild thing who cares about nothing else.' ~ page 304
