I'm absolutely in love with that amazing cover! The icy colours are stunning beautiful and I can't take my eyes of it at all.
'A Promise Of Fire' is the first book in the 'The Kingmaker Chronicles' and it's the debut of the amazing, lovely author Amanda Bouchet.
Her writing style is easy to read and is absolutely thrilling! There are no dull scenes in the whole book and I wasn't able to put it down for just a second. Well, I nearly burned our dinner while I've been reading.
I love the Greek mythology and I most definitely love fantasy! In this book you will find the perfect mix of these two topics.
You will stumble across amazing characters while reading this amazing story.
Of course you will meet Cat - the main character. I loved her from the first page. She is not someone, who wants attention all the time, even if she is a soothsayer. No. In fact, pretty much the opposite is the case. Cat tries to stay hidden all the time. She doesn't want to be seen, remembered or found. And she has a horrible past. Way worse than anyone could imagine.
But she also has courage, is kind, can't hold herself back, when it comes to the big mouth of hers and she definitely is quick-witted!
Long story short: I ABSOLUTELY LOVE HER!!!
You will also come across Griffin - the mysterious southern warlord from Sinta. He is very attractive in his own way. Which means lots of muscles, a great character and his very own kind of humor.
He's most definitely one of my most favourite book characters!
But these two are not the only amazing characters you will meet in this book. There are many more, whom you will love.
Everyone, who wants to read a grandiose fantasy book to escape the reality for a little while needs to read this book and join Cat and Griffin on their adventurous and dangerous journey!
'A Promise Of Fire' is an absolute highlight for me and I can't wait to get my fingers on book #2! I hope that there will be many more books written by this absolutely talented author!
